Deck Innovations was founded after a year of firsthand experience working within the local deck-building industry. During that time, it became clear that truly high standards were the exception, not the norm. Too often, projects were built to minimum code requirements, with unclear material choices, rushed workmanship, and a lack of transparency with homeowners.
We saw homeowners being asked to make major investment decisions without fully understanding the materials being used, how their deck was being built, or how those decisions would impact longevity, safety, and long-term value. That never sat right with us.
We believe homeowners deserve more.

Meet the Owner
I’m Michael Landau, a proud native of Lancaster County and the founder of Deck Innovations. I graduated from Chestnut Hill College in 2014, where I served as captain of the NCAA Division II Men’s Lacrosse Team for three years. During that time, I helped lead the transformation of our program from an unranked, non-competitive team into a nationally recognized contender; an experience that shaped my leadership style and commitment to accountability.
After graduation, I enlisted in the United States Army as an Infantryman and currently serve as a Staff Sergeant. The discipline, structure, and attention to detail instilled through military service continue to guide how I approach every project and every client relationship.
I began my professional building career in 2015, inspired by my grandfather, who ran his own carpentry business and taught me the value of doing things the right way; no shortcuts. Eight years ago, I discovered my passion for deck building, and it has been my focus ever since.
At Deck Innovations, quality isn’t a slogan; it’s the standard. I personally build and oversee every project to ensure exceptional craftsmanship, long-term structural integrity, and a transparent, professional experience from day one. Clients know exactly what’s being built, why it’s being built that way, and can trust that it’s done to last.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, being with my family, and hiking with my dog, Odin.
